HAND EMBROIDERY IN VIETNAM

Vietnamese hand embroidery’s story is an ancient one, more than one thousand years old tradition.

My village, Van Lam, is in Ninh Binh province, the Ancient Capital of Vietnam’s Kingdom in the 11th century, where the women embroidered clothes for the royal families. Hand-made embroidery has been handed down to the present day.

In Vietnam, there are some other embroidery villages but the product embroidered by women in my village is always of an outstanding quality by traditional techniques passed down from generation to generation.
